Jevne Park Concept Master Plan
Thank you to everyone who was able to come to the Jevne Park plan open house on March 15, 2023! We’re excited to have so much thoughtful input to help inform our planning. For those who couldn’t attend, we’ve uploaded the presentation boards that were shared at the event. Attendees were invited to place sticky notes with their comments on the boards, as well as provide their preferred amenity locations, identify their top three amenities, and identify their preferred example images. While feedback is always welcome, it will be most helpful if you could provide your input by March 23. Please email your comments to getoutsidekn@gmail.com. Our goal is to consider all input as we continue working toward a final master plan. Thank you!
Background:
As part of Medicine Lakes 2023 Fiscal Planning, it was identified that the City needs to be proactive and prepare a concept master plan for Jevne Park. Outcomes of this master plan will help define priorities for moving forward with phased improvements and funding.
Currently the city has developing three concept plans and is soliciting input from local residents and stakeholders. Concept plans will be refined based on input into a preferred park master plan, cost estimate and phasing plan to guide improvements to be implemented in the park.
As the City moves through these plan we welcome community input through communication, attendance at open house, and participation in City Council meetings and open forums. Information, as it is reviewed by City Council, will be posted on this site. Please reach out at any time to any council member for additional information.

Capital Improvement Plan (CIP)
As part of Medicine Lakes 2021 Fiscal Planning, it was identified that the City needs to be proactive and prepare a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) that will fully assess our options to address the City’s aging infrastructure. Chris Klar, Public Works Superintendent, Craig Kile, City Treasurer and Chris Heim, City Council member have contracted with SEH, an engineering, architectural and planning company, to provide input on the best approach for a strategic planning initiative that underpins our questions and offers expert guidance for a long-term CIP project. The City is currently saving money each month for future infrastructure needs, but we do not have a comprehensive plan. The scope and cost of the expected projects that have been identified thus far are significant and are expected to require a 10-15 year plan, that will include funding sources, a detailed implementation timeline and infrastructure prioritization. High level, the intent is to dedicate 2021 to planning for these projects to establish scope, costs, funding sources, and justification.
As the City moves through these phases we welcome community input through communication, participation in City Council meetings and open forums. Information, as it is reviewed by City Council, will be posted on this site.
